A common question on the web is LED screen rental pricing. A good answer to this question is less common. Why don’t companies like to list their pricing online? The main reason is that the LED rental rate can vary significantly based on product availability, event location, and services requested. However, in the age of instant information on the internet, it is natural people want to know a ballpark cost before having to talk to a sales rep. That is why we are revealing the secret of LED screen and jumbotron rental rates here.
Minimum Cost to Rent an LED Screen
If you are considering LED screen rental, you should plan on shelling out a minimum of $3,000. LED equipment is not cheap, and neither is the required labor and resources to run the equipment. If this is nowhere in your wheelhouse for a budget, based on viewing requirements you may want to consider renting a standard TV or projection. How to Calculate Mobile Rental Rates
Now that you are past the sticker shock, here is how to roughly estimate the daily rental rate of a mobile display like an LED screen trailer or truck. A good rule of thumb when determining a ballpark LED rental rate for a mobile LED video screen is to figure $150 per LED panel. LED video walls are composed of individual LED panels, approximately 2 ft by 2 ft. Learn more at our LED Academy For example, if you want to estimate the rental cost of a 16 ft wide by 10 ft high video wall, you would take:
16/2 = 8 PANELS WIDE
10/2 = 5 PANELS HIGH
8 PANELS WIDE X 5 PANELS HIGH = 40 TOTAL PANELS
40 TOTAL PANELS X $150 PER PANEL = $6,000 DAILY RENTAL RATE
A daily rental rate typically includes all associated fees – power, setup, tear-down, and operation. However, with modular LED (that is, LED screens built out on-site and not prefabricated onto a vehicle), there will likely be additional charges due to the increased amount of labor, equipment, and personnel for setup. You can learn more about the differences between mobile and modular in our 5 Benefits of a Mobile LED System.
How to Calculate Modular Rental Rates
As mentioned, modular LED video wall rental will cost a bit more than mobile. So as a general rule, let’s use the same formula as above, but with a price of $200 per panel for modular LED tiles. This factors in required labor and rigging charges. So for a 16′ x 10′ modular LED screen,
16/2 = 8 PANELS WIDE
10/2 = 5 PANELS HIGH
8 PANELS WIDE X 5 PANELS HIGH = 40 TOTAL PANELS
40 TOTAL PANELS X $200 PER PANEL = $8,000 DAILY RENTAL RATE
Keep in mind, the cost to rent a jumbotron can vary greatly based on screen resolution (pixel pitch), brightness rating, product availability, and other factors. Also keep in mind, these are day 1 rental estimates. Rental rates for following consecutive days are bound to drop down significantly.
