What Size Mobile LED Display Do I Need For My Event?

Securing a Mobile LED Display for your event is a great way to take your audience’s experience to the next level. Making sure the screen is the right size is key to its success.

We’re here to help provide you with variables you should consider when determining the right size Mobile LED Display for your next event.

VENUE

Every venue is unique, as is every event. The venue impacts your screen size in a couple of different ways. First, the trailer footprint. The bigger the screen, the bigger the display trailer. Our largest screen, the MAX 2313, is 23 feet by 13 feet. The trailer is 30 feet long by 8 feet wide. Even though your venue may have enough space for that size screen, you may not have the room for that size trailer.

The size of the screen will also play a role in how high the screen can go. While you may think you need a bigger screen to be seen further away, a smaller screen with a greater height capability might work better.

AUDIENCE

A bigger venue doesn’t necessarily mean you need a bigger screen. What matters more is how your audience is going to view the screen. Is everyone spread out or moving like they would at a festival or race? Or is everyone congregated around a platform or even the screen itself? When thinking about your audience, you need to consider how far away people will be and perhaps how many people there will be. The further away, the bigger screen. If you are dealing primarily with a congregated audience (concert, viewing party, etc.) the more people, the bigger the screen.

CONTENT

What sort of content are you displaying? A leader board with names is viewed differently than a movie. When you need your audience to be able to read what is on the screen, the text has to be a certain height to be widely viewable.

Think about the vision test at the eye doctor. Not everyone can see the smallest font on the bottom line. That has to be accommodated for when you’re incorporating a screen into your event. Often, people think they can add more text by making the font smaller, but that defeats the purpose in that many people will lose visibility once the text gets too small. The more you need to display at one time, the bigger the screen you may need.
