College World Series Event Recap

kesha led screen

This year we were thrilled to perform another LED video production at The College World Series tailgate at the Old Mattress Factory in Omaha, Nebraska. This was our second year, and with last year’s success, we wanted to up the ante even more. This year we provided 40 extra of feet of video wall, with 4 SuperMAXes near the stage and a modular wall inside the tent. Setup went smoothly since we were primarily using mobile LED trucks, which only took 30 minutes each to set up. Once we were set up, we were ready for 2 straight weeks of non-stop action!

MAKING AN IMPACT WITH DAILY EVENT RENTALS

During the day our jumbotrons in Nebraska displayed sponsor advertisement, social media to screen, and ESPN sports games. The social media to screen was a huge hit. We had a live feed that pulled social posts containing #OBV2017 and put them in a slideshow on the jumbotrons. It helped get Omaha Baseball Village’s page trending with thousands of posts throughout the course of the World Series!

Fans could hang out in the Old Mattress Factory parking lot area and enjoy the food vendors, cold drinks, outdoor games, and live TV on our LED boards. As the sun went down and the big World Series games were over, we began our prepping for the night bands. There was a live band playing every night and we ran full production, including audio, IMAG (image magnification) with 2 cameras, and video overlays. We had a lot of fun running the cameras, and the crowd had an equal amount of fun dancing to the music. The energy of the crowd was so contagious! Check out this video of the crowd: ( insert crowd vid, if you think it’s a good idea to embed)

After two full weeks of the displaying content for a college event, with plenty of baseball and bands, Florida beat LSU in the championship playoffs in game 2. It was an exciting time but our crew was ready to get back to Des Moines. That night we packed up and hit the road with the 4 SuperMAXes and our box truck. We are already excited for next year and hope to see you there!
